Description
The Monticello Chamber and Monticello Community Center want to thank you for supporting this event in years past but due to construction in the downtown area, we are pausing this event in 2023. Safety is of the utmost importance to all of us. Watch for future plans for this event.
The Monticello Chamber and Monticello Community Center invite you to our Trick or Treat event in Downtown Monticello. Enjoy Trick or Treating down Walnut Street and West Broadway at participating businesses. Those businesses will have an orange pumpkin displayed in their window or on their door.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Department will be patrolling the area for added safety.
Please respect our crossing guards when traveling around during the evening.
Businesses: It is free to participate but registration is required. Please register with the Chamber office by October 24th. If you have a store front in the downtown area, you will receive a pumpkin poster to display in your window/doorway, so participants know to stop.
If you do not have a store front in the downtown area or simply do not want to interrupt your business hours, you can request to set up in the Monticello Community Center. (All business or organization entries will set up inside of the Monticello Community Center. A table & chair will be provided by the Community Center but you are responsible for your display & handouts.) We expect approximately 2,000 participants.
The public does not need to register to participate, please come and enjoy the fun!
$$ There is no cost to the businesses for this event. This is an annual event that happens the Thursday before Halloween.
How to register: Contact the Chamber office 763-295-2700 or info@monticellocci.com to register your business for the event by October 24th. Businesses can register online by visiting our website www.monticellocci.com, click on event.
How do children know you are a stop? An orange pumpkin poster will be delivered to your business, or you can stop by the Chamber office and pick one up, that you should hang in a clearly visible spot in your window so the kids will recognize you as a stop.
How many children can you expect? Every year we have more and more participants in this fun night out. This year we are recommending that you have enough treats for 1800-2000 children.
We encourage all of the businesses to make a scarecrow to hang up on the city poles and trees. Refrain from securing them to an Xcel Energy pole or directional signs. Unfortunately, we don't have extra frames at the Chamber office that can be used to decorate to advertise your business, if you have a frame provided from previous years you can use that or make one of your own. The Scarecrows can go up anytime but must be down by Tuesday, November 1st. All scarecrow frames should be returned to the Chamber office as soon as possible after that date.
How is the event advertised? We advertise on our kiosk, website, Facebook & Instagram, Chamber newsletter and orange pumpkin posters in all participating businesses.
