SUMMARY:Candidate Forum & School Levy Community Session 10/22/2025
DESCRIPTION:Candidate Forum & School Levy Community Session\n\nHosted by the Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Industry\n\nThe Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Industry is honored to host an important evening of community engagement ahead of the 2025 Special Election for the District 29 Senate seat. This event is designed to provide residents with the opportunity to hear directly from local leaders on two critical issues that impact our community: the future of our schools and the direction of our representation at the State Capitol.\n\nWe will begin the evening with a School District Levy Q&A Session. With significant reductions already made and additional cuts scheduled in the coming years\, the Monticello School Board and district leaders will outline the financial challenges facing our schools and answer community questions regarding the upcoming levy vote.\n\nFollowing the levy session\, we will transition into a Candidate Forum featuring both candidates for the District 29 Senate race:\n\n\n	\n	Michael Holmstrom (Republican Candidate)\n\n	Michael Holmstrom\, a lifelong Minnesotan\, lives in Buffalo with his wife\, Nicole\, and their five children. He is a small business owner and longtime grassroots organizer in Wright County. Michael has been active in Republican efforts across Central Minnesota\, with a focus on limited government\, safe communities\, and family-centered values. His campaign emphasizes transparency\, accountability\, and bringing real-world business experience to the State Capitol.\n	\n	\n	Louis McNutt (Democratic-Farmer-Labor Candidate)\n\n	Louis McNutt\, the DFL-endorsed candidate\, also resides in Buffalo with his wife and three children. He works as a heavy equipment mechanic for the Minnesota Department of Transportation and is active in AFSCME Local 221\, serving in various union leadership roles. With a background rooted in labor advocacy and community service\, Louis' campaign focuses on listening to constituents\, amplifying rural voices\, and ensuring that working families are represented in St. Paul.\n	\n\n\n Date: Wednesday\, October 22\n\n Location: Monticello Community Center Mississippi Room\n\nAgenda:\n\n\n	\n	6:00 PM School District Levy Q&A\n	\n	\n	7:00 PM Candidate Forum\n	\n\n\nThe Chamber is proud to provide a platform for thoughtful discussion and transparency. We invite all community members to join us\, engage in the conversation\, and be informed before heading to the polls on November 4\, 2025.\n\ninfo@monticellocci.com or 763-295-2700. \n\n\n\nThis event is open to anyone. (Chamber membership is not required to attend this event).\n\nNote:\n\nThe Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Industry does not endorse any political candidates.
